Lil Furry Monster Presents: LFM's Pull List: Issue #74 “Los’s Kryptonite”

LFM's Pull List: Issue #74 “Los’s Kryptonite” Throughout these episodes we’ve learned that Los has many weaknesses, his very own kryptonite if you will. Pretty much, if you put a shark, a monkey or Zoe Saldana on it, Los is buying it, reading it or watching it. Add Rosario Dawson to that list as Los brings us a mini-review of the new Chris Rock movie Top Five. We know that a movie like that goes against most of the usual program around here at the Pull List so don’t worry we couldn’t spend too much time on it as there was way too many things happening in the Pull List world. Speaking of which, has everyone picked up their Guardians of the Galaxy yet? Maybe some of you have picked up multiple copies??? If so could you let Los know so he doesn’t feel like the only crazy person on the planet? Remember the Spider-Man to Marvel rumors that came out of the Sony hack? Looks like it’s still a possibility and we take the opportunity to discuss the possibilities here. Speaking of rumors, Vito D thought it would be a good idea to send Los some Star Wars EP VII spoilers this week and it didn’t go over very well. Mid-season finales have all come and gone meaning now we all have about a month to catch up on the rest of our lives but they sure left us with plenty to talk about while we await their returns. The Flash has been one of our new favorite shows and they did not disappoint. Some questions were answered but for ever answer we got, we got 5 more questions. We’re talking about you Dr. Wells.  Arrow answered some questions; we’re just not sure if we wanted the answers. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. even made the cut this week. Man these guys must be in the holiday mood or something. As always we round the show up with our comic book picks of the week. Los has been waiting for this week for quite some time now; I mean he’s only been shouting the title of this book from the rooftops for months. That’s right...BITCH PLANET is here and not only is the book has amazing as he imagined it has managed to even exceed his already high expectations. Keeping it in the family, Sex Criminals returned with another stellar issue. Vito D loves him some Southern Bastards and Los wraps things up with The Valiant. Oh and has anyone heard of this Krypton show???

Lil Furry Monster Presents: LFM's Pull List: Issue #72 “Can You Dig It?”

LFM's Pull List: Issue #73 “Can You Dig It?” Sometimes being brave isn’t enough, you have to be BOLD! Who better to teach us that lesson than The Arrow and The Flash? The anticipated cross-over event came, it saw and well you’ll have to listen to hear if we thought it kicked ass or not. The Walking Dead mid-season finale happened. You know that Terminator movie that no one asked for? They dropped their first trailer this week and we’ve got a very passionate response from Vito D-100. DC’s Suicide Squad gives us some big casting news. Marvel finds their Dr. Strange, Jessica Jones and Deadpool. The Goldbergs spark up some hover board talk. Los dominates Jeopardy and tries to prove that reading comics actually makes him a genius. Speaking of comics, Shaft makes his comics debut courtesy of Dynamite and you know Los is all over that. The Humans return with issue #2 and Ghost Fleet #2 round out Los’ picks of the week. Vito D has Men of Wrath #3, Dark Gods #2 and Hellboy and B.B.R.D. #1. CAN YOU DIG ITTTTTT? Cue Los’ theme music…

Lil Furry Monster Presents: LFM's Pull List: Issue #71 “The Funk Awakens”

LFM's Pull List: Issue #72 “The Funk Awakens” Back from the Holiday break and what a surprise we get. Perhaps the best surprise all year! The teaser trailer for Star Wars EP VII: The Force Awakens is here and it has certainly stirred up some emotions. Most of them from 8yr old Los who hasn’t shut up about it yet, so of course we get pretty deep into Star Wars this week. The Jurassic World trailer released as well. That Star Wars trailer though… TV round up gets heated as the guys are starting to split on some of their perennial favorites. Arrow and The Flash are getting ready for a crossover battle. Constantine looks to be DOA and The Walking Dead has Vito D up in arms. That Star Wars trailer though… Our comic picks of the week kick off in Gotham. No not the TV show Gotham, c’mon get serious! We’re talking Gotham by Midnight #1 from Ray Fawkes and Ben Templesmith. Vito D brings back a past favorite with The Damnation of Charlie Wormwood #2, and Matt Fraction’s Ody-C #1. Los can’t help but talk monkeys again and he brings us Boom’s The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes #1. Did we mention that Star Wars trailer?

Lil Furry Monster Presents: LFM's Pull List: Issue #71 “Science Boners”

LFM's Pull List: Issue #71 “Science Boners” E=mc Hammer? I don’t know but we’ve got a lot of science going on around here but first Los continues his crowd funding philanthropy and brings us two exciting projects for you Horror fans. First up the Indiegogo campaign for “Everybody Goes to Hell” – Whatever you do STAY AWAY FROM THE DOORS!!! Next up is the Kickstarter campaign for “Muck”. LeeAnna Vamp is involved; nothing more needs to be said. Links to both projects are shared below. Released in theaters this week was two movies very much anticipated by the LFM crew, two Sciency Science movies hence the science boners! First up was Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. Los headed to the Imax for this one and we find out if it’s worth exploring or not. Next up the family friendly Big Hero 6; How was Marvel and Disney’s first animated release? Was it everything the guys had hoped for? Star Wars gave us it’s next Episode title and that got the guys geeked up over Star Wars but really it never takes much for that to happen. The TV roundup got interesting this week as Vito D and Los seemed to be heading in different directions now on some of their past favorites. Arrow, Constantine, and The Walking Dead, we’re looking at you. Vito D catches Los in one of his awkward Bollywood Netflix binges. Thankfully for Los he’s able to change the subject with some great comic books picks for the week. Vito D brings us Image’s Birthright #2, Tooth & Claw #1 and Marvel Icon’s Men of Wrath #2. Los counters with Image’s Penny Dora and the Wishing Box #1, Dark Horse’s The Ghost Fleet #1 an d back to Image with a comic that has Los so excited he had to actually stop talking to avoid any kind of restraining order. The Humans #1 is here and is everything Los wanted it to be. Monkeys on Motorcycles! We’ll leave you with that….Have a great week everyone!

Lil Furry Monster Presents: LFM's Pull List: Issue #70 “Booth Babes”

LFM's Pull List: Issue #70 “Booth Babes” We’re back from Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend and man do we have an overstuffed, super-sized show for you this week. So much show, we almost Harry Potter’ed the thing and split it in two but since we like to make up for our time away it’s all here for you. What a convention it was, Vito D told a horror legend to GTFO, had an unfortunate run in with Tara Reid and we shared an interesting elevator ride with Jason Vorhees and this was all day one. Wait until you hear about these underground exploitation horror movies! Convention aside there was the usual business to attend to this week and we’ve got some movie reviews, movie news, our TV round-up and of course our comic book picks for the week. Kicking things off with Nightcrawler (not an X-Men movie); Los wanted to exercise some brain cells with the new thriller but should you invest any of your brain power on it? We got some big news from Marvel this week and Los couldn’t be more excited. We’re going to Wakanda people! Constantine debuted while we were away to add to the already loaded comic book TV shows on our DVR’s. Where we caught up in its spell or do we need an exorcism?  Of course we catch up with Arrow, Flash, Gotham (kinda) and get to discuss the excellent start to the new season of The Walking Dead. Vito D brings us the new Southern Bastards #5 from Image and Avatar Press’s Dark Gods #1 as his comic book picks for the week. Los comes in with a DC title, Arkham Manor #1, Image’s Saga #24 and Rasputin #1.

Lil Furry Monster Presents: LFM's Pull List: Issue #69 “Joaquin!!!”

LFM's Pull List: Issue #69 “Joaquin!!!” Love, Death, Animation, and Zoe Saldana; The Book of Life had it all. This week’s episode kicks off with the Guillermo Del Toro produced Day of the Dead inspired The Book of Life. See, we can be family orientated around here.  However that doesn’t last very long, you’re going to want to hide the children as Los shares some WTF Horror moments from Netflix. Oh you crazy, crazy Japanese! When he’s not watching horror movies he’s playing horror video games. The Evil Within was released this week. Los and Vito D will let you know if you should pick it up. Gaming not your thing? We’ve got our usual TV roundup filled with The Flash, Arrow and the return of The Walking Dead. The comic book world was rocked this week by The Death of Wolverine, or was it? Los has some issues with “The Big Two” this week and Vito D can’t get enough Arrow. He’s got Arrow Season 2.5 #1 and Green Arrow #35 for us, more GI Joe v. Transformers and rounds things off with The Fade out #2.

Lil Furry Monster Presents: LFM's Pull List: Issue #68 “Flash Dance”

LFM's Pull List: Issue #68 “Flash Dance” The Flash premiered, Arrow returned, American Horror Story brought the Freaks out and Darth Vader is coming! Then the Comic Book Gods rewarded us this week with some great books. Image dominated our list this week (surprise, I know). Scott Snyder and Jock are off to an amazing start with the chilling Wytches #1, Joshua Williamson and Andrei Bressan bring us Birthright #1 and the perennial great Sex Criminals is back with its 8th issue. DC made the list with Batman #35 and we got some Viking action from Ragnarok #2. So much goody goodness why waste any more time with a show description? No one really reads these anyways do they? BRING ON THE SHOW!!!

Lil Furry Monster Presents: LFM's Pull List: Issue #67 “I Like Your Doll”

LFM's Pull List: Issue #67 “I Like Your Doll” October is here, Bring on the Horror! Los busts out the demonic chants and went out to see if he could conjure up some scares with Annabelle. Does the Conjuring spinoff deliver or disappoint? I think most of us are in agreement when we say we’re disappointed with the debut of Gotham and it is still early, but did the follow up episode give us any hope? What about S.H.I.E.L.D.? Well, let’s just say it is what it is. Good news though, Star Wars Rebels debuted an hour movie to kick off the new animated adventure and it’s got the guys very excited. Our comic picks for the week kick off with a book that may have been under a lot of radars, Dynamite’s The Damnation of Charlie Wormwood. Los follows that up with two books that have garnered a lot of media attention, Marvel’s Thor #1 introducing the new female Thor and DC’s Gotham Academy #1. Vito D has Jason Aaron’s Men of Wrath, DC’s Lobo #1 and The Flash Season Zero #1. Los rounds out this week’s picks by celebrating the return of his favorite Lil Depressed Boy and the always amazing Alex + Ada #9. Don’t forget the LFM crew will be at Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend. Head over to http://www.spookyempire.com/ and get your tickets.

Lil Furry Monster Presents: LFM's Pull List: Issue #66 “The Gotham Banks”

LFM's Pull List: Issue #66 “The Gotham Banks” Los is fresh out of a concert and is pushing music again. This time it’s Banks and her debut album Goddess. Did the homeless community and female farts overshadow the show? We can say it’s never dull when Los leaves the studio. There were plenty of reasons to stay in the studio this week, the Fall TV season has started to drop some premiers of our most anticipated shows. First up, Fox’s Gotham; Bet you never thought they could cram so much into one episode. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has returned for its second season. Has the Winter Soldier / Hydra momentum carried over? And what is this new Scorpion show? Are they geniuses? It wasn’t very clear. Enough TV, how about some comic books? Image’s Roche Limit makes the top of our pick list this week. Vito D still longing for the glory days of the 80’s has IDW’s G.I. Joe #1 and looks to the future with Futures End: Booster Gold #1. Los has some deep undercover drama going on with Archaia’s Butterfly #1 and the book that will go down as one of the greatest comic series in history, Saga #23.

Lil Furry Monster Presents: LFM's Pull List: Issue #65 “I Am The Walrus”

LFM's Pull List: Issue #65 “I Am The Walrus” #WalrusYes, Tusk is here! We know Los loves Kevin Smith like a fat kid loves cake but is Silent Bob’s new Horror/Comedy worth a trip to the theaters. Who doesn’t want to see a man turned into a Walrus? The Supergirl TV project finds a network backer in CBS and Vertigo’s Lucifer looks to be making its way to television as the comic book properties continue their takeover of your regularly scheduled programming. Marvel fans are excited, we’ve been given a release date for the Doctor Strange movie as well as the announcement that the Deadpool movie is moving forward. Tons of great comics this week, it was hard to only pick a few. Vito D brings us Spider-Man 2099 #3, Superman #34 and Stray Bullets #7. Los has a couple Image titles in the new Oddly Normal # 1 and the always stellar Wicked + Divine #4, plus the BEST BOOK OF THE WEEK and Los’ favorite Superhero comic in a long time, Jason Latour’s Edge of Spider-Verse #2: Gwen Stacy Spider-Woman. Seriously this book needs to be a major ongoing title like NOW! You’ve been put on notice Marvel!
